masculine vs. feminine energy pt. 2

masculine vs. feminine energy pt. 2

embracing masculine energy has always been easy for me. it was something i had to cultivate at a young age due to the circumstances of being the oldest sibling with a 5-7 year age gap, growing up in a single-mom household. these factors required me to step up as a leader and take on responsibilities needed due to a missing parent. throughout my early life, i never felt the luxury to relax. now that my siblings are older and more self-sufficient, it has allowed me the space to realize the dynamics of both my feminine and masculine energy.

i used to perceive my masculine energy as a negative trait that i wished would disappear. i felt it was unusual, and if only i had a 'normal' family, i wouldn't have to exert so much of this energy.

while searching for my feminine qualities, i believed the way to showcase them was by eliminating all masculine traits. this imbalance left me feeling disempowered, lazy, and purposeless.

recognizing that masculine energy is crucial for balancing feminine energy, i've come to understand its significance. having that fiery energy and drive on one side, and showcasing the effortless and poised traits of the feminine on the other, helps to present a well-balanced aura.

there's nothing wrong with confidently showcasing a fierce side of yourself. however this way of thinking has helped me to balance my aura effectively.

3 simple tasks that helped me tap in:

1. starting the day with a to-do list & DOING IT! (checking off tasks nurtures the assertive side of masculine energy.)

2. using my voice—speaking up, calling things out, & saying no

  1. being decisive. making a decision, big or small, without fear of change. taking ownership of changing paths is crucial.

these three things fall under the category of assertion

in the realm of yang, it aligns with traditional expectations, embodying strength, decisiveness, and independence. assertiveness is a key component of masculine energy, fostering confidence and leadership qualities.

in the end, you don’t have to be a leader for everyone else, but you do have to be one for yourself.
